CNC 201: CNC Machine Setup and Operation

This hands-on course provides training in the setup and operation of computerized numerical control (CNC) machines. Instruction is given on both CNC mill (vertical machining center) and CNC lathe (turning center). Upon completion of the course students will be able to setup, operate and troubleshoot various production problems on CNC machines. 

Students who complete the course will be able to:
• Explain the functioning of the machine tool.
• Understand position movement, tool movements and operational sequences. 
• Understand G-codes and their functions. 
• Setup CNC maines for major operations.
